Anti-stress
Mental health
The study examines the psychological effects of a meditation-based forest therapy program on middle-aged urban women in Korea. 53 participants were divided into two groups, one of which completed the program first in a forest and then in an urban area, while the other group followed the reverse order. The psychological effects were assessed using the Profile of Mood States-Brief (POMS-B).
The results showed that the forest therapy program significantly reduced tension, depression, anger, fatigue and confusion compared to the program in an urban environment. This suggests that meditation-based forest therapy programs can effectively reduce stress and improve psychological well-being in middle-aged women, potentially enhancing their overall quality of life.
