Since 2016, Fit Reisen (the parent company of SpaDreams), as a founding member of the association "Quality in Health Prevention e.V.", offers with the EuropeSpa certification an international proof of quality for higher transparency and better orientation. Hotels can be certified in two categories.

How do I as a spa guest evaluate the quality of healing therapies and medical wellness offers, if these terms are not protected so far?

"Quality in Health Prevention e.V." (short: Quhep) is an international organization for quality in cross-border health tourism. Significant players from the European healing therapies and spa industry work together on a common platform. These include, for example, tour operators, health insurance companies, spa hotels and clinics, and scientific institutes.

The common goal of the association is to achieve greater transparency for consumers and more competitive justice in cross-border health tourism. A core task of "Quhep" is the further development of the international EuropeSpa quality criteria.

Among the test criteria are:

  • Cleanliness and hygiene in the accommodation
  • Aspects of safety and technology in the SPA area
  • Right use of remedies
  • Compliance with international medical rules in diagnostics and treatment.

The "EuropeSpa med" quality seal

"EuropeSpa med" quality seal

"EuropeSpa med" is an international quality seal for providers of healing therapies and medical wellness. It was developed with the participation of the European Spas Association (ESPA). This multiple award-winning quality system covers the areas of diagnostics, therapy, pool and sauna, as well as kitchen, restaurant and accommodation. In houses that are awarded according to this standard, you can expect an international level of quality, confirmed by professional auditors.

"EuropeSpa hotel spa" is one of nine seals that Stiftung Warentest rated as helpful in 2013. It was developed specifically for SPAs in hotels and refers, among other things, to hygiene and service. To ensure that wellness enjoyment comes first, the SPA is scrutinized in detail by an expert. In addition to the cleanliness in the associated pools and saunas, it is also about the cosmetic and wellness treatments and the fitness area, among other things.
