Dax, located in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in the southwest of France, is renowned as one of the largest and most significant spa towns in France. Surrounded by pine forests and close to the Atlantic coast, Dax offers an ideal blend of nature, culture, and therapy. The town is situated along the Adour River, just about 18 miles from the coast.
The town and its surroundings feature numerous markets, festivals, and gastronomy, highlighting the charm of the region.

A continental breakfast is served daily. Breakfast is exclusively served in your room, as a breakfast room is currently not available – however, it is already in the planning stages. The breakfast can be tailored to your needs, such as gluten-free, vegetarian, or other preferences.

The Thermal Centre spans 1,350 m² and offers a diverse range of treatments. Facilities include 21 mud beds for peloid treatments, 2 hydromassage devices with thermal water and steam, and 4 turpentine cabins. Additionally, there are 17 bathtubs with thermal water (between 33°C and 36°C) and a 55 m² thermal pool with the same water temperature. The thermal area is directly accessible from the hotel via elevator.

Sample treatments:

Peloid therapy: Hot peloid mud is applied to medically prescribed areas. The treatment lasts up to 15 minutes. It is anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, and enhances joint mobility.

Turpentine shower: Consists of a mixture of 38°C thermal water and DAXTHERPIN®, a turpentine-based product (oil extracted from pine or spruce needles). This mixture is sprayed onto the painful area for about 3 minutes.

Carbon dioxide bath: Involves the diffusion of carbon dioxide microbubbles under pressure in a thermal water bath (26 to 28°C). Therapeutic effects include reduction of edema (swelling) and improved tissue nourishment.

Other treatments: Drinking cures, ovens for hands and feet, high-pressure showers, massages, underwater showers, physiotherapy, and much more.

Medical Specialties

Rheumatology
Focuses on diseases of the musculoskeletal system, particularly joints, muscles, and connective tissues. It includes both inflammatory and degenerative conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.

Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia, a chronic condition characterized by widespread muscle and joint pain, fatigue, and other symptoms, may benefit from hydrotherapy. Hydrotherapy uses water at various temperatures to treat a range of health issues.

Phlebology
Focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of venous system disorders, such as varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency, or thrombosis. Dax mineral water therapy is used to support the treatment of venous diseases. The mineral water enhances circulation, reduces inflammation, and strengthens the venous walls. It can be applied in the form of baths, drinking cures, or compresses to alleviate symptoms like pain, swelling, and a feeling of heaviness.

Indications: Musculoskeletal disorders such as osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, rheumatism, gout, fractures, sprains, back problems, and ankylosing spondylitis.

In addition to the thermal treatments, you can also enjoy the natural surroundings, such as hiking or cycling through the pine forests. The region is also ideal for boating and fishing. Dax also has much to offer culturally. Historical sites like the Roman baths and the impressive Saint-Vincent Cathedral are also worth visiting.
