Saccharum boasts 7 restaurants and bars. As a tribute to the hotel's origins, the decor in most areas features antique machinery and metals once used for distilling liquids like rum.

The breakfast buffet (7:30-10:30 a.m.) and, for half or full board, the lunch and dinner buffets are served at the 'Engenho Restaurant' with sea view. At 'Alambique', you can explore the local cuisine of Madeira, while 'Trapiche Restaurant & Pool Bar' on the rooftop terrace offers light meals. The resort's commitment to sustainability is evident in its kitchens, which primarily use fresh and regional ingredients, including vegetables from the hotel's own garden, and a focus on seasonal dishes.

Additionally, the hotel features the 'Calhau Beach Club' with direct sea access, the rooftop 'Fly Lounge Bar' with live music, and the 'Garapa Bar' at the Adults Only pool.

The hotel offers a fully equipped gym with sea view (7 a.m.-10 p.m.). Yoga, Pilates, meditation, or Tai Chi classes are offered several times a week in the Fly Lounge Bar or at the Calhau Beach Club (approx. €15/person, included for SPE guests). Personal training can be booked on-site (approx. €60/hour). A squash court is available subject to availability (approx. €15/hour, included for SPE guests), equipment rental (approx. €22).

Enjoy sunny hours at the three outdoor pools with umbrellas and loungers. One is an Adults Only pool, one an infinity pool, and one accessible for families with children. On cooler days, the heated indoor pool offers a great alternative.

A shuttle bus takes you daily from the hotel to downtown Funchal (approx. €30/person round trip, included for SPE guests). Explore the island's capital on your own and, for instance, visit the Cristiano Ronaldo Museum. The hotel also offers excursions to the surrounding areas (for a fee), such as to Pico de Areeiro or a bus tour through Calheta. Additionally, selected activities are offered free of charge at the hotel (e.g., Portuguese lessons).

Discover local art and culture in the hotel's own gallery "Galeria 1425". In two game rooms, one for children, you'll find popular board and card games (10 a.m. - 12 a.m.).
