Niramaya Yoga offers a holistic, profound, and transformative experience in Yoga Teacher Training. With over 25 years of experience in therapeutic practices and teaching various styles of Yoga, our instructors are dedicated to imparting the knowledge, skills, and inspiration needed to guide others on their Yoga journey. The training (200 or 300 hours) is conducted in small groups and covers all eight aspects of the Yoga path - Ashtanga Yoga according to Patanjali (Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana (Meditation), Samadhi. The curriculum includes Therapeutic Yoga, Advanced Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, Advanced Ashtanga Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Kriya Yoga (Cleansing, Detox), Nada Yoga (Mantra), Bhakti Yoga, Meditation, Ayurveda Lifestyle, and Yoga Philosophy.
The family-run (Indian-German) guesthouse is nestled in a large palm garden. The property is divided into two sections: the Afonso family's residence and the guest rooms. A rooftop terrace accessible to all offers views over the rice fields to the west, perfect for enjoying the 'blue hour' and sunset.
Villa Malibu is located in the state of Goa on the mid-western coast of India. The path to the beach (10 – 15 min walk) starts right behind the house. The village centre of Benaulim with supermarkets, banks, cafes, and restaurants is also within walking distance. The airport can be reached in about 45 minutes.
The Ayurvedic breakfast during the training includes fresh tropical fruits or fresh juice, along with tea, providing the perfect detox start to your day. Additionally, there is a daily Ayurvedic vegan/vegetarian lunch and dinner featuring fresh vegetables and herbs, curries, soups, local yogurt, salads, whole grain roti (Indian bread), and rice. Warm ginger water (Detox), cold and hot water (Detox), various teas, and honey are available throughout the day at the school.
The 200/300-hour teacher training programme is designed for yoga enthusiasts of all levels, whether to deepen their own practice or to train as yoga teachers. The programme includes theoretical and practical modules that promote a holistic practice and convey inner balance, stability, joy, and ease. The training at Niramaya Yoga emphasises personal transformation and health to effectively support others as a teacher. It also offers insights into the spirit, myths, and philosophy of India, as well as the Ayurveda lifestyle. Upon successful completion, you will receive the 200h Yoga Alliance certificate with global recognition.

21 days YTTC 200h Yoga Alliance certified
Week 1: Fundamentals of yoga, introduction to yoga philosophy and history, the eight limbs of yoga by Patanjali (Ashtanga Yoga), yoga ethics and lifestyle (Yamas and Niyamas), basics of pranayama (breath control) and meditation techniques, basics of anatomy and physiology
Week 2: Asana practice and teaching methodology, detailed study and practice of Hatha Yoga asanas (postures), alignment principles and adjustments for safe and effective practice, sequencing and structuring yoga classes for different levels, teaching methods, communication skills and class management, introduction to the profession of a yoga teacher: ethics, marketing, and professionalism
Week 3: Integration and internship, advanced asana practice and refinement, teaching internship, leading complete yoga sessions with supervision, feedback and refinement of teaching skills, final exams (written exams and teaching evaluations), closing Puja (ceremony)
25 days YTTC 300h Yoga Alliance certified
Advanced asana practices (50 hours): advanced asanas focusing on alignment, variations, and modifications. Exploring the energetic and therapeutic effects, advanced sequencing techniques and extended stays in the asanas.
Pranayama and meditation (30 hours): advanced pranayama techniques to regulate and expand breath, various meditation exercises to deepen concentration, inner awareness and mindfulness, understanding the physiological and psychological benefits of pranayama and meditation.
Yoga philosophy and ethics (30 hours): study of ancient yoga texts such as the Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, and Hatha Yoga Pradipika, deepening in the philosophical teachings of yoga, exploring the ethical principles and values of yoga, practical application of ethical principles in daily life and teaching
Anatomy and physiology (20 hours): deepening understanding of human anatomy and physiology in relation to yoga, learning the biomechanics of yoga asanas, common injuries and contraindications, exploring the subtle anatomy, including chakras, nadis, and koshas
Teaching methodology (100 hours): developing advanced teaching skills, including effective communication, demonstration and instruction, learning advanced practical adjustments and modifications to safely guide students into poses, practicing designing and leading advanced yoga classes, workshops and private sessions, exploring the business aspects of teaching yoga, including marketing, ethics and professional development
Practice (70 hours): applying what has been learned in real teaching environments through teaching internships, receiving constructive feedback and guidance from experienced instructors and peers, refining teaching skills and gaining confidence in leading transformative yoga classes
Dorothea Mishra is a yoga teacher (BDY/EYU, YA - E-RYT®, YACEP®), naturopath, and therapist who has been guiding individuals on their journey towards greater mindfulness, well-being, and health for over 25 years. Her profound practice of authentic yoga, encompassing all eight aspects, has provided numerous participants in her courses with a transformative connection to themselves and to the teachings of yoga. She has been sharing her comprehensive yoga knowledge in retreats, training programs, and workshops for many years.
Subit Mishra has been working full-time as a holistic yoga teacher (YA - E-RYT®, YACEP®) worldwide for many years. He comes from a family where the practice of yoga has always been a part of daily life. In his sessions, he combines modern, therapeutic yoga knowledge with his familiar traditional practice to create an exciting and soothing yoga class where everyone can truly connect with themselves and deeply experience yoga.
Bicycles and scooters can be organized. The honey-gold beach, stretching 12 km from Colva through Benaulim to Canaguinim, features the beach bars "Malibu" and "Pescador" open from November to March. Goa's capital, Panaji (Panjim, 41 km), offers opportunities for strolling and shopping, delicious dining, or even a moonlight cruising tour on the Mandovi river. Enjoy the ambiance of the old town with its Portuguese colonial architecture. With a TukTuk, you can quickly travel to the bustling market town of Margao (8 km), immerse yourself in Indian daily life, explore the narrow lanes of the market, inhale the aromas of spices, buy saris, pack tea for the year, and then enjoy a Galao at the old Portuguese cafe Longhinouis.
