Kerala, the southernmost state of India, is known and loved for its long sandy beaches, the beautiful, extensive waterways of the Backwaters, the diverse culture, and not least for the multitude of Ayurveda resorts. The region offers a tropical climate all year round, with the monsoon season (ideal for Panchakarma) from June to October.

Great emphasis is placed on strict, Ayurvedic vegetarian cuisine, white fish is prepared only upon request. European cuisine is also available.
The Ayur Diamond certified Ayurveda Center with 10 treatment rooms is led by 2 Ayurvedic doctors, supported by a professional team of therapists. In addition to classical ailments, they also focus intensively on modern-day problems such as burn-out, addiction issues, cardiovascular problems, or eating disorders. The small number of guests ensures the greatest possible individuality of the therapy and the necessary peace for achieving a balance of body, mind, and soul. Pavilion for morning Yoga (3 consecutive courses, for beginners, advanced, professionals; except Sundays) and evening meditation. Weather permitting, Yoga takes place on the beach. For travel companions and residential guests, it costs approximately €15/hour (£13 / $16). The yoga instructor is very experienced and meets each guest at their level.
The Ayurveda therapy at Meiveda stands for tradition and individuality and relies heavily on the Kalari Ayurveda originating from Kerala, which is characterized by targeted, deep-reaching treatments according to the Marma-Nadi system. This describes the connection of the sensitive Marmas (energy points) with the associated Nadis (energy channels) in the human body. A corresponding Kalari massage optimizes the internal energy flow, can improve mobility, and alleviate various pains.
The center is designed and equipped according to Ayurvedic teachings to ensure complete concentration and relaxation for the guest. Continuous care of the guest, with constant adjustment of the Ayurvedic treatments and diet according to individual needs, promises a lasting therapy that restores the balance of body, mind, and soul and makes everyday stress forgettable.
The lush vegetation offers relaxation for the senses, and the tropical, flat beach invites you to take walks and swim in the sea. Hammocks in the garden, sun loungers and parasols on the beach are available for your use. Shopping facilities are about 3 km away. There is a bicycle rental service. The resort is happy to help organise excursions to the historic surroundings, for example, to the famous Backwaters, Athirapilly Waterfalls, Thrissur with the Sakthan Palace, or the Guruvayoor Temple.
4 standalone, traditional Kerala double chalets and 2 spacious chalet houses accommodate 16 cosy, roomy double rooms (also available as SGL=DBL). Generously distributed across the grounds, they ensure utmost privacy and are comfortably equipped with mosquito nets, fans, and large terraces with seating areas. Nice resort with very friendly staff. The food was good, but unfortunately the choice was limited. 3 hour drive between airport and resort, which is not great. Unfortunately no swimming pool. The Ayurveda treatments were good, but not as extensive as at Nikkis Nest. The doctors were not yet as experienced, no comparison to Nikkis Nest. Unfortunately, the electricity kept failing, no emergency generator. The water in our room also failed several times. The surroundings were very quiet and relaxing. Overall ok, but I will book Nikki's Nest again next year.

The resort was very familiar, peaceful and personal. The rooms are simple and in keeping with the area. I felt very well looked after as a solo traveler. We received interesting information from the Ayurveda doctor and the yoga teacher. It was perfect for me.
