Surrounded by the spectacular nature of the Harz Mountains, the Wellness and Spa Hotel Wasserschloss Westerburg offers the ideal place to unwind. Encircled by a picturesque moat fed by a natural spring, the castle showcases a blend of medieval architecture and baroque charm. The origins of the Wasserschloss date back to the 12th century, making it one of the oldest preserved water castles in Germany.

The quaint village of Westerburg is nestled in the picturesque landscape of the northern Harz foothills. Westerburg captivates with its charm, featuring traditional half-timbered houses and small farms. The area is excellent for hiking or cycling. It is also very popular among bird watchers and nature photographers.

The lavish breakfast buffet featuring sparkling wine, fresh fruit, bread, and egg dishes is served daily from 7-10 a.m. in the restaurant with its castle vaults. Fresh and seasonal ingredients are combined in an international cuisine with regional elements. Lunch is available à la carte. The half board is offered in the evening as a 3-course dinner or buffet (at the chef's discretion). Additionally, Wasserschloss Westerburg boasts a hotel bar.

Relax, unwind, and feel at ease in the hotel's spacious wellness areas (approximately 1,200 sqm). The Westerburg Spa (8 a.m. to 9 p.m.) features an indoor pool with counter-current system, colour lights, massage jets, and an integrated whirlpool, as well as aroma and sensorial showers, a Relax Gallery, and a Vital Bar. Two saunas (Finnish & Bio), a bathing pool, a Kneipp walking pool, and a heated bench are available in the lovingly decorated Romantik Spa (8 a.m. to 9 p.m., from age 12).

A diverse wellness menu, from massages to cosmetic treatments, is offered by trained staff.

The fitness room is equipped with cardio and strength equipment.

The hotel is connected to the "Harzvorlandweg" cycling trail, which links the states of Thuringia, Saxony-Anhalt, and Lower Saxony. Explore the surroundings on a bike ride and enjoy the stunning nature. There are also hiking trails through the idyllic countryside. The castle itself occasionally hosts cultural events, such as medieval festivals. Free castle tours are available every weekend. Bicycles and e-bikes can be rented on site for a fee (approx. 20-45€ (UK £17 / USD $21 - UK £38 / USD $47) per day).
