Silence, joy, untamed nature. Far from everyday stress, nestled in the hills of the Peloponnese, the Home of Silence invites you to inner harmony. Find deep tranquility in daily yoga asanas and meditations, with a splendid view of the forests, mountains, and the sea. Adventure also awaits: explore deserted beaches, hike to secret waterfalls, and visit charming Greek coastal towns.
Awaken, find yourself: As the sun climbs over the mountain ridges and gently awakens the valley, start your day with meditation or yoga. After a nourishing breakfast, the day is yours for outdoor activities, visiting coastal towns, or simply relaxing on the beach and by the pool. Whether hiking and mountain biking, swimming, or exploring Greek antiquity, each day offers a new experience. In the late afternoon, depending on the course, practice more yoga sessions and then enjoy a healthy dinner featuring vegetarian and vegan delights from the Greek cuisine, sourced from organic, local produce wherever possible.
Perched high above the Neda River valley, nestled among a forest of ancient olive trees and even older oaks, the lodges of the Home of Silence cling to the mountainside. Hammocks strung between the trees invite you to relax and read. The plateau with its open living area serves as a perfect spot for dining, sunbathing, and cooling off – thanks to a pool and a natural shower. Here, you'll also find the yoga and seminar area: under the open sky, shaded by an ancient olive tree and surrounded by the panoramic views of the nearby mountains. Should it rain all day, yoga sessions can be held in the enclosed yoga room, which spans 35 sqm.
Exceptional culinary nourishment is also provided at the Home of Silence. Chef Ulli uses vegetables and fruits from the region for her vegetarian and vegan dishes, buys authentic Greek cheese at the local market, and lets you taste the fine Kalamata olives and oils – the specialties of the Peloponnese.
At the Home of Silence, the day begins with Ayurvedic oil pulling and antibacterial turmeric tooth oil for a fresh start. Teeth can then be gently cleaned with organic tooth powder. Complementing the yoga sessions, there are soothing massages with organic oils such as Baobab or Argan, refreshing shower powder, and hair care with an intensive hair treatment. The 100% organic-certified and vegan products are gentle on skin and hair.
Sustainability, responsibility, and health are core values for our team. The home textiles from hessnatur are made from natural organic cotton, and towels are changed only upon request. Guests enjoy a restful sleep on handcrafted luxury futons made from natural materials. Our bio-cleaning agents and yoga mat cleaners are sourced from Planet Pure, established by Silvio in 1999. The natural cosmetics from the certified organic brand "Eliah Sahil Organic Care", also founded by Silvio, ensure gentle care. Solar energy provides electricity and hot water, while the water supply comes from our own source in the mountain village "Panorama".
Silvio Perpmer was introduced to yoga as a child. In 2002, Paramapadma Dhiranandaji initiated him into the technique of Kriya Yoga and trained him as a certified yoga teacher. Since then, Silvio has been opening the path of Kriya Yoga to his students as a way to unify everything in this world: career and family, yoga and meditation. His knowledge of the body, gained through his training as a certified medical masseur, also benefits his students. With Home of Silence, Silvio Perpmer invites those who wish to retreat from the bustling world for a while – to get closer to themselves and their true selves.
The surroundings offer numerous opportunities for relaxation and activity: Fine, deserted sandy beaches at Kalo Nero and Elaía invite you to linger, while challenging mountain bike routes through the surrounding forests provide adventure. Walks in the extensive olive tree plantations offer a quieter alternative. Nearby, the Ox Belly Bay with turquoise water, the olive stronghold Kalamata, and the ancient Temple of Apollo at Bassae (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) beckon. Just 15 to 20 minutes by car, nearly untouched beaches stretch out, visited once a year by sea turtles. Directly from the lodges, hiking trails lead into the stunning nature of the Peloponnese, where traditional shepherd and fishing villages can be discovered.
