Amara Ayurveda Retreat in Detail

Your Ayurveda Resort

The expansive green grounds of the Amara Ayurveda Retreat are located in the untouched hills of Kovalam, offering a spectacular view of the evergreen Western Ghats. The resort's location was carefully chosen, surrounded by herbal splendour and tranquil landscapes, enhancing the effects of Ayurveda treatments. As the name suggests (Amara = ‘eternal’), the concept of Amara is in harmony with nature. The goal is sustainable, responsible Ayurveda tourism: hot water through solar energy, rainwater tank, avoiding plastic bottles, and a bio-gas plant for food waste. The atmosphere is calm and familial - an ideal place to ground yourself and recharge. Immersing in the nearby culture, visitors gain a deeper understanding of Ayurveda's philosophy, values, and function. Thanks to the proximity to the airport and thus short transfer times, the maximum treatment time can be utilised.

Location & Surroundings

Kovalam, a small coastal town in the southern Indian state of Kerala, is a true dream destination for beach and nature lovers. With its breathtaking natural beauty, golden sandy beaches, and shimmering waters of the Arabian Sea, Kovalam attracts travellers from all over the world. The name 'Kovalam' means 'grove of coconut trees' in Malayalam, the local language of Kerala, and this name reflects the region's landscape. Along the coast of Kovalam, lush coconut groves create a relaxed and tropical atmosphere. The Amara is located in the hills of Kovalam, just a 10-minute drive from the nearest sandy beach, such as the crescent-shaped Kovalam Beach. Moreover, there are many attractions to explore in the vicinity of Kovalam. Just a short 45-minute drive away is the city of Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala, with its cultural wealth, magnificent temples, and palaces. Overall, Kovalam is a paradise for those seeking peace. With its natural beauty, relaxed beaches, Ayurveda culture, and rich cultural history, Kovalam offers an unforgettable experience for all who wish to discover the wonders of India.
